Interrupted life part 2
Where was I. The rest of the summer was fairly un-eventful. Then I get a phone call from the police. My GD has been sexually assaulted by the "wonderful man who stood up in church, so proud to be her God Father". But wait there's more!!! Her new wonderful stepfather had to admit that this same man had been doing this to him for years. I LOST IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I took GD back again, told DD that neither one of those creeps would EVER lay eyes on her again. DD left husband "for good". How could he hand my little girl over to this monster knowingly.
For the next nine days I vomited and cried so hard I couldn't see, my eyes were swollen shut. Time to move on. Act like everything is normal for GD. Hard because literally over night she lost Mommy, Daddy, His entire family and her beloved God Parents.
Then DD busts out on a drug test (while pregnant) I put her in a better rehab. After "graduating" this time she went to sober living. I dutifully took GD to visit every Saturday, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. The hour ride home after each visit was excruciating. I would look in the back seat and watch the tears flowing down GD face. She truly loved and missed Mommy. DD asked me if I would be in delivery with her because she didn't want to be alone. Well, of course I would.
Then she goes missing right before due date. She calls me after baby girl is born. Come to find out she had been across the street at his family's house, too scared to tell me she and hubby are back together. His entire family is at the hospital. I was BEYOND LIVID. Spit in face of your own flesh and blood will you?
I don't need to re-live the horrible fights between her and I. Doozies, every one.
DNA proves that this is Hubby's daughter. The worst that could happen. I wouldn't (couldn't) even look at that baby for several months. I couldn't even open my drapes in my own house because GD could see that her Mommy was across the street. Last Easter there they are all outside having an Easter egg hunt in the front yard. Why is Mommy over there and not with me?
I go to court for permanent custody, Granted. I allow DD to visit at my house whenever she wants, which is about every 3 weeks. She is not allowed to take her anywhere. Fast forward...present time.
God Father is doing 60 years in a Texas prison, GD is in counseling and Kindergarten. I barely speak to DD. The rest of my family wants NOTHING to do with her. She says she is leaving him ( just to pacify the folks that think she threw her daughter under the bus). Then posts pictures of the new house they had built to live happily ever after... Really, people, get a clue, if you are going to lie, you need to lie on FaceBook also.
I feel better now. this journaling thing is very therapeutic. More later.
