interesting weekend

In-laws were in for the weekend and we had such a wonderful time. I'm very fortunate to have them as in-laws.  We had lots of laughs.   Poor kitty, however.  Our cat (he's so beautiful and has such a great disposition) injured his foot after he jumped from my middle son's arms.  Although my son wasn't happy about it - he went with me to take him to the animal emergency hospital.  It was late, a half an hour away, in the dark, and through unfamiliar territory.  In addition, we ended up waiting well over two hours before they even got to see him.  When they finally saw him, we had to wait an additional 1/2 hour for the x-rays.  Then they told us to go home and call in 1/2.  I did and then they said it'll be another two hours.  Fortunately, after all that he was finished and we could bring him home.  It wasn't broken but dislocated.  Poor little guy has a wrapped splint around his back leg and as he walks you can hear the thump of the bandage. And since it was late - middle son was missing his socializing - not surprised he didn't come home last night.  He had reffed all weekend, getting up early in the morning, gone all day in the sun, so I bet he just crashed.

Poor Kitty! Hope the splint doesn\'t make much difference in mobility! I have 2 sister kitties and they are so spoiled! You sound like you expected J to do just as he did. Is he doing ok? Maybe the time spent there gave you a good opportunity to talk?

Yes - J seems to be doing fine. School definitely was the answer. Although I know he parties like many kids his age - I haven\'t witnessed any behaviors or evidence that indicates that he does. Yesterday he announced to my husband that he wanted to play tennis with him..... so off to the club they go. He also worked hard all weekend without a fuss. So thanks for asking.

Sounds like the vet office, after hours, is just as backed up as those serving humans?! Glad to know that all is well and the holiday weekend was otherwise a lot of fun! Take Care!

Poor kittie. I\'m glad he\'s okay and it\'s not broken. It\'s hard seeing them hurt. It sounds like J is back on track with the help of school and I\'m glad to hear that.
