Interesting weekend
My husband and I went to our soccer game Friday night. We had a lot of fun and it helped that we were winning by a wide margin. Two minutes before the game ended, however, I found myself between the opposing goalie and the ball. I was facing him and he kicks the ball and --WHAM right in my face. I went down. The first thing I check is my teeth with my tongue to see if they were there, they were. Next thing I know members from both teams were around me asking me if I was okay and if could see them clearly. Then I knew I was fine. As I got up, however, the looks I got frightened me at first. Thankfully, my injuries weren't as bad as I had thought. My lip was very swollen and bleeding, my nose hurt, but especially my jaw. My jaw was out of alignment and was more concerned about that then anything else. After the game after my team mates could see that I was alright, the teasing started. It was funny and made me feel better. I've played with this group for quite a long time now and they are such a great group of people. So caring and fun. I'm blessed. Went to the fundraiser last night with my husband and another couple. We had fun, after all. I really didn't want to go but ended up having fun. I was a bit nervous, however, because I know nothing about the Texas Hold em card game and the players were playing for lots of money. These people play day after day, night after night. Our high school had the great opportunity to work for this business so that we could raise $ for our school. My job was to collect $ from the players every hour or when a new member would join the table. I had the table with hot heads. They had a few disagreements here and there causing the management and police to come over. The group settled down and worked it out. I found it to be so interesting. Our shift went from 5PM until 9PM - many of them were still at the table! Some were there long before I arrived. Unbelievable. I'm told that many of them play for days and for every week because they are able to supplement their income by $400 - $500 a week. Whatever..... * I really didn't want to go to this event because of my issues with the high school Principal who isn't cooperative with some of the things I wish he would do at the school, but it turned out okay. Putting my focuses now on Washington where I may be able to to get more done then at the lower level at the school. Hubby signed us up to help out tonight, too. Guess I must do the "political' thing and go. Oh - forgot to mention..... received a response e-mail from T's assistant principal. I e-mailed him about a change in the packet and to tell him about my trip to Washington. Also (I know I shouldn't have) but I asked him how things were going with T. T went A WOL from school on Thursday because I refused to allow him to come home because he wasn't feeling well. He didn't like that so he left. The Assistant Principal has some concerns about him -seeing who T is "chilling' with because his "friends" are shady and are up to no good. I told him I contacted T's PO and his PO wants to meet. I have had concerns, too, because I know these kids he's been hanging with use. Well -- lo and behold - wouldn't you know that this weekend T came home early Friday night, hung out at home most of the night and called us to tell us he was finally going out, and when he did he managed to come home before us. And the best part is he was with a friend I am very comfortable with him "chilling" with! When T hangs out with this boy.....things run smoothly in his life. Such a roller coaster though....

I got to wondering why you expect the principal to be different? He is not an agent for change on his own and his ego wouldn\'t allow him to be generous with praise......at least in public. I feel sorry for him because he seems rather insecure when you think about it.......So, moving forward!!!!!! Glad to hear you are OK and don\'t need a plastic surgeon and that the weekend went well.
