Interesting Thought

I was talking to my friend Vita today, and she was saying how you don't know what symptoms could be side effects of medication and what is a true symptom. I was telling her that a lot of the things I go through I have had for years, since I was a child for the most part. The past couple days I've been having the problem where I feel like there are giant skis on my feet and I'm going to bump into things or hit things across the room with these giant (imaginary) things on my feet. I get it with my fingernails too, sometimes, but feet normally are the worst. This is something I've also had since I was a child. The only really new things are the severity and detail of the visual hallucinations and the tactile hallucinations- which started in 2004, and would only be in the summer. Now it's year round.
That brings me to my thought- what if the weather (heat especially) has something to do with the hallucinations? It would explain why they would get bad in the LA summer but happen more often here in Miami (where it's hot year round- even in the winter we are around 75 degrees). It doesn't mesh perfectly, though... the year round hallucinations started a couple years ago, and I have been in Miami for 4 years now. It's just a thought that I have to process and refine. My mind works on stuff like this for a long time, and in a couple days I might have a better idea, or not. Who knows?
Today I took my cat, Angela, to the vet. She has only been out of the apartment since we got her in late 2008- and that was when we moved from one apartment to this one. She handled being outside *extremely* well- especially considering we went on the bus. She was a bit confused when I first started rolling the cat carrier, but she got used to it and by the time the first bus came she was hardly complaining. She didn't pee the carrier, she didn't even fuss when she got her shots. I brought her home, and later tonight she even got back into the carrier, like she wanted to go out again! While we were out, I got her a harness and leash so I can take her outside more.
Mood- Today I'm still a 5. I got less than 7 hours of sleep last night, but got a 2 hour nap a bit later. I'm tired, and I may be emotionally crashing... but I was still able to get done today what needed to get done. Oh, and I got my letter from Medicaid today.. they are going to help me with some medical bills! It's so exciting :)
Food- today I had some pizza for breakfast; a small hamburger, 1/3 of a small chili and a coke at Wendy's, and some shrimp and chinese veggies with fried rice for dinner. I tried to make my regular chicken, but the chicken was bad and we didn't have anything else defrosted to eat for dinner. Water- Over 1L today, but not near my 2L goal. I don't count soda, coffee or tea towards my goal since they have caffeine and drain water out of you.
Seems I can *still* ramble! LOL :)

I like the way you think things through and rationalize the effects of meds on your body/mind. I do that with the pain meds that I take to see if it is the meds that make me hurt more, or if they just help the pain that is already there. Sounds like your kitty likes the carrier. I know mine did. She felt very secure and thought she was hiding.....LOL

Keep up the good work with your sleep, but work on your foods. Pizza for breakfast really isn\'t great, but the rest of the day sounds pretty good. Work on having more fruits and vegetables in your diet and keep away from the fried items. Work towards that 2L goal for you water and if you could get yourself away from the caffeine in your other drinks, you can count them towards you liquids for the day.
