INSULIN ISNT HELPING
Is there anyone on Insulin. My sugars are now in the 200s most days. I've been on all kinds of pills along with diet and exercise. Yet they keep going up. I'm one of those lucky people whose pancreas makes more sugar at night while I'm sleeping as well.
I am currently on 50 units of Levemir and my doctor just added a fast acting Humalog Kwik Pen.
I hate sticking myself. It's not for me. I hate needles with a passion. What is a girl to do?
Diabetes runs in my family. I am 48 years old about 5'6 and about 208 pounds. Trying to exercise but with the winter blues in Chicago its hard. I am stressed about this sugar thing and I'm tired, I'm seriously considering just not taking any meds and try to exercise more and really watch what I eat.
I have changed my diet several times and dropped off a lot of foods/drinks that run my sugar up, but it doesn't seem to be helping. I'm scheduled to see the endocrinologist on Thursday and hope he can really help me.
