Insanity!
Oh man, I am completely drained from the ridiculous events of this week! I went out of town last weekend and on my way home I got stuck in some road construction traffic and noticed my gas light was on in the car. I was stuck in traffic for another 25-30 minutes and just as it ended my car started to die. I was able to coast along a bit hoping for an exit to appear but no such luck, not on this day. Instead I had to pulll it over onto the shoulder and leave it while I walked - in a freaking skirt - to a gas station.
I decided to call a cab from the station and best part of the evening, super cute cab girl shows up to take me to my destination! We chatted, got stuck in traffic again, finally nearing the area I notice tow trucks and realize my car has been hit! I was in a state of shock at that point. I've only owned this car for 2 months and it's been so good to me! I spoke to the police officers and they relayed to me that the young man who hit my vehicle actually ended up losing control of his truck, flipped it twice and was taken to the hospital. He is okay - I called the cop to check the next day. I am so thankful that I was not in my vehicle at the time of the impact. Very grateful that I was in a safe place when that happened.
So now I'm trying to get in touch with the other driver's insurance - not having an easy time of that. As I said, I've only owned the car for 2 months and I still owe $ to the friend I purchased it from. Pretty sure my car is going to be totaled. I just don't even know how to feel right now. I was really statisfied with my recent accomplishments considering that in the last year my partner and I have moved to another state, I've secured solid work for myself and purchased my own vehicle. Just seems like an overwhelming situation right now. I feel like an idiot for not fueling up sooner!
