INR level results today - 06/13/13

 
It has been an interesting day to put it mildly.
After dropping off gd at her dance camp, I came home to a phone call.
It was the clinic calling me with the results of my INR from Wednesday evening.
I had the lab work done at about 5pm on Wed and by 9:30 the clinic was calling me.
 
Apparently, the INR level came back to be 5.9!!
It kind of spooked me but after talking to a couple of people here I calmed down.
I had thought  that maybe since I had taken my medicine a couple of hours prior to the 
testing that I had  messed up the results.  After thinking it over and listening to 
people here, we all agreed that it takes more then an hour or so for the medicine to take
effect. So that means it was an accumulative effect.
 
SO today I am to skip my usual dose (5mg) and then for the next few days take a half a
tablet (2.5mg) and get my level rechecked next week. I also see the doctor on Monday.
So that is where things stand for me. 
 
Now this is causing a little anxiety plus the fact I should be headed out on my trip that I had
planned on for over a year. All my friends are packing, flying, driving,etc to our yearly
conference. It was also our 100th Anniversary celebration as well so special things were
planned as well. 
 
So although I am okay, I am feeling a little blue.
Chest is hurting some today but most of it is from the anxiety I think. I may talk to doctor
about that on Monday also.
