Infant Loss - Before Birth and Early Loss

I am sorry for your loss. I understand it will hurt forever. Some of my friends have told me that they have had people say maybe they should not be so sad because they only had their child for a very short time, many of them lost their children before they were even born. I know you loved your child(ren) sometimes years before they were concieved or born. I know because I did. You dreamed of how it would be, what they would look like, imagined holding them in your arms, watching them at play, so many dreams. This is a poem I hope might bring you comfortI REMEMBER YOUThe world may never notice If a rosebud doesn't bloom: Or even pause to wonder if the petals fall too soon. But every life that ever forms, Or ever comes to be Touches the World in some small way For all eternity. The little ones we longed for Were swiftly here and gone. But the love that was then planted Is a light that still shines on.And though our arms are empty, Our hearts know what to do Every beating of my heart says "I Remember You" Author unknownI hope as you remember your angels you will be comforted to know many of us know and care. Love to you and your angels. Elissa

Thanks for posting this Elissa. The age is irrelevant - our children are our children. Losing them at any stage is indescribably painful.

Thank you so much. Such a true and beautiful poem. I didn\'t know today is infant loss day. I remember Ava and Phoenix\'s deaths just this year. It was so hard. I also have a friend currently going through a miscarriage and doesn\'t know if she needs surgery right now. I mentioned her in my journal. It makes me feel for her more. She wanted me to be the godmother too. I am remembering all my babies today and tommorrow on bereaved Father\'s Day.

Thank you for sharing. We lost our first baby at 11 weeks 4 days to miscarriage. He or she would have been 24 in June. It\'s a loss you never get over.
