Incredibly Lonely
With the exception of a little bleep here or there, I am feeling like I haven't heard from anyone in 85 years . It is incredibly lonely. Guess that time of year is upon us ... where the hustle and bustle of the season will keep all too busy for popping in here. Hope all do have an ok holiday... wherever you may be ( and in whatever stage you may be.... happily content, struggling optimistically or hanging on by thread) May we ALL find courage and faith to continue on our paths forward.

Hugs to you.
hugs my friend.
Kim, I am always here.
You're right, this is an incredibly busy time. But I will take a moment and pray for you right now. I am getting ready to have family here for Thanksgiving, and I also have a food co-op delivery on Monday, which will take that whole day plus some time before and after. I hope I will be able to get everything done. I'm also a little sad that my oldest grandson, 16, won't be with us. He has to be with his dad and stepmom. His mother was my oldest daughter who died of cancer 9 years ago. Things like this make holidays less joyous. But I am thankful to God for so many things--He has always been there for me. I wish you a pleasant Thanksgiving no matter what else is going on.
Thank you all. @ Foodcooppres... is always harder when we have those who are still in our hearts and memories, but no longer with us. Love and hugs to you as well. and to ALL of you.
I am here too Kim I have a little theory about the busyness of this time of year. Sure the holidays take time to arrange everything and shop. But also , if you are observant, you can see all the critters scurrying around getting ready for winter. We aren’t so much survivalists in the sense that we will die of starvation if we are unsuccessful on the fall hunts but our ancestors were not so long ago. That feeling of urgency is still in our dna. I know from paying attention to myself that the first late February or March thaw helps me relax that tension. We hibernate by withdrawing into ourselves and nest. Then we open up in the spring. If we’re lucky and emotionally healthy enough. So seeing this we all need to breath and tell ourselves that we’re safe (won’t starve or freeze to death) And try to use the time in the long dark evenings to reach out to people. Am I on to something? Lol
I'm here too. : ) We'd love to see you in the Happy Place group, anytime you feel like dropping by! Hope you enjoy the holidays!! Hugs, Judy

Add my hugs too! I sometimes feel so alone, too.
Double-no triple hugs:)
Finallyawakenow, I agree. with you. Sure the upcoming holidays get everyone distracted but I do think there is something about shorter days, losing light, and colder weather that can put people in a different head space, and I do suspect some of that is how we are wired.
Plus, more down time riding the winter out leads to more time to think, and more time to think is just fertile ground to contemplate the past, to consider all we’ve loved and lost, all our regrets, to sit in pain a little longer. I’m a big believer in healthy distractions, to force myself out of that. This is great time to volunteer, to put energy into others, to try to step outside our heads. I tend to spend a lot of hours in the office over winter just to keep myself focused on things other than my sense of melancholy and loss over the long winter.
I live in the Midwest; winter feels like FOREVER and often fills me with a heightened sense of dread and almost claustrophobia. And that’s were I seriously have to keep mentally moving. Otherwise, I’d probably lose my marbles. I force myself to get out and about, to engage everyone I meet, just to feel part of the world, part of a community.
What I’m trying to say is we don’t have to resign ourselves to feeling alone, or sad, or regretful. We can change the script that runs through our heads during this time of year. Don’t wait for others to be a light. Be the light!
