Incident at Work

I'm really frustrated at myself right now and won't stop kicking myself in the ass.
There's this program we've been trying to get up and running for months and it just seems to keep hitting road blocks regardless of what we do. It is really frustrating at times.
So, there are two big issues at hand. One is integrating our emails into the software, the other is sorting all our customers into salesperson categories. I talked to one sales manager and got her okay to ask her sales team to help us change the categories to help speed this process along. So I went to the VP and mentioned that I wanted his guys to help me as well, and it would be a great way to introduce them to the program.
He basically told me that introducing a piece to them is a bad idea and that it would just confuse them even more. Granted, Salesmen think completely differently than most people (probably) so I was willing to accept that, but I used to tutor/teach children. You don't force them to learn the whole damn thing at once. I was hoping to introduce them to pieces of it since they are in the office (normally are all out on the road). I know I had good intentions, it just didn't get communicated correctly. And he sensed my reaction to what he was saying and reacted in his own way as well.
I know I could have handled the situation better, but I have been walked all over by him and the President of the company so many times it's really hard for me to deal with. My personal life being so out of control (feels like it at least) doesn't help. I know I need to work on my interpersonal skills while around these two people at work, but it's so hard for me because regardless of how many times I try to speak up I'm always stomped on.
If I were a boy this would not be happening. If I was a skinny, wore pumps and skirts and flirted with them this would not be happening.
That's honestly how I feel...
I have to roll over and take it like a bitch because that's all I'm seen as, a doormat and dog to beat.
This is truly how I feel in these situations.
I am very stubborn and headstrong. I was raised to never let men put you down. It is so hard to deal with all the sexism, boys club mentality and nepotism at work. I guess it's just a negative aspect to working in the private sector. I know I am resentful in some ways, but why in the fuck do I have to be the one to bend over and take all the damn hits?
I love helping my coworkers at work. I take it very personally when I feel I've let people down by being unable to fix something. I love working for my boss and helping our company grow. I know I'm not the only person that have issues with these two people at work, but they are the top dogs so when they bark you obey.
I'm feeling really divided about some things, but I need to make it be a separate entry.
I know that the logical solution to this is to touch base with the VP but it's so hard to bring myself to it. I feel like there is so much "boys club" at work that I won't be heard or respected regardless of what good I do. Any time I try to assert myself I'm just plowed over by men. When I do something good I'm hardly recognized for it by upper management. I worked with a coworker for 4 hours and managed to create reports that the President paid $100,000 grand for. Did I get praise? Nope. My coworker gets paraded around to all the owners thought.... And yes.... He's a man.
I'm losing faith in ever finding respect/praise by upper management. I really hate to say it...but it's totally true... Makes me wish I could just be someone's wife and just stay home all fucking day while they work and take care of everything....
