The Golan Levels is formerly section of Syria and it has been occupied by Israel because 1967 following the Six Day War. Successive Israeli Governments have considered an Israeli withdrawal from the Golan inturn for the normalisation of relations with Syria. The US brokered negotiations between the two in 1999-2000 but didn't achieve a resolution. The problem arose again in 2006 conflict where Iranian supported Hezbollah guerrillas needed portion in the Lebanese war. In May 2009 Benjamin Netanyahu, stated that Israel would not stop trying the Golan since when it became Iran's entrance line then this will threaten the whole state of Israel.
