In Lisbon
Hello Community,
This morning around 11:00 we left Cascais and were driven to Lisbon. The drive took about 30 minutes. We are now at a Marriott.
Portugal is now my favorite country. Italy and New Zealand have dropped into a tie for second place. The food here is great and the people are unusually kind/nice.
The Portuguese do not understand why we have canned sardines and our concerns with universal healthcare. The grilled sardines here are wonderful.
Today is our rest day and tonight we will watch the Portugal vs Spain game. That should be a lot of fun. Several World Cup games ago we were in Amsterdam (one of my favorite cities) and watched the Netherlands play Mexico. We had a blast. Hopefully tonight will be the same.
I brought some of my exercise equipment with me and exercise twice a day. Of course, I am doing a lot of walking as well. I still hurt. I fight and I have a good time (despite that the Marriott bartender does not have a clue on how to make a good martini).
Tomorrow we have a Portuguese cooking lesson and wine tasting.

Maybe you\'ll have to exchange some knowledge with that bartender and teach him how to make a good martini....lol. Keep enjoying every moment possible, and if you can, toss us a recipe or a good cooking idea from your cooking lesson. As always, keep up the fight. Dan

Sounds wonderful! And good for you on keeping up with exercising. I am looking forward to your pictures. Portugal is a place I really have not thought a lot about. Now I think I will have to add it to my bucketlist. Which just keeps getting longer btw. lol
