In honor of Camden

Hi everyone, I was very proud of my granddaughter Christina this week. She did a very positive thing with sad feelings that she had. I don't know if you all are aware of the little boy that was found murdered in South Berwick, ME which is about an hour from where I live in Massachusetts. The precious six year old was found last Saturday by passerbys in a wooded area and for 5 days was not identified. His computer generated pictured was sent out nationally & internationally in the hopes of identifying him. On Wednesday he was identified as Camden Pierce Hughes from Texas, six years old. A truck was identified as belonging to a person of interest. That person was Camden's mother, who was apprehended in Chelmsford, Massachusetts which is a town away from where I live. His mother confessed to murdering this precious little boy.
My granddaughter Christina was so distraught & disturbed for the little boy who no one clainmed as their own at first & then she cried & cried over his passing at the hands of his mother. It hit her very hard as she just became a mommy and also she has a little brother who resembles this boy. Christina decided to do something positive and so she organized a balloon launch to honor Camden yesterday. This makes me know that Christina is growing and maturing and beginning to let feelings out in a positive way. So about 30 of us gathered at a reservoir in Lowell to send off the balloons. I said a few words in Camden's honor and with some tears off went the balloons. The balloons went up so fast I didn't have an opportunity to catch a pic of them but I have posted some other pics of the site where we let the balloons soar to Heaven with Camden's spirit.
God has you in His care now, little Camden.....We honor you and your life that ended too soon.

How tragic for this precious little boy, what a disturbing story, how can this be, this little soul... so sad. But it is just lovely that your granddaughter organized this ballon launch for Camden, I truly believe that our prayers and such attentions help the deceased find their way to God\'s light and love. God bless you and your lovely granddaughter, I will pray for little Camden. Hugs, Suzannah

That is so sad, so hard for us moms to understand; I always feel sorry for the mom, too, though, as I feel she must be terribly ill to do such a thing. Under proper medication, when she finally comprehends what she\'s done to her own child, the realization...
That balloon release in memory of Camden was so very sweet of Christina. You have a wonderful granddaughter, Linda, who is compassionate and caring...like you!

What a caring granddaughter. Takes after her grandmother!
I can\'t imagine a mother wanting to kill her child. I have to believe that she was mentally unbalanced.
Hope you are having a good weekend!

A beautiful grand daughter you have....Such a sad story that this little boy had to suffer....It actually blows my mind to know a parent can hurt their own children.....Makes you wonder what all the child had endured...What a great group to get together to remember this sweet six year old child. Yes, I saw the story about this beautiful little boy, a terrible death at the hands of his Mother. I don\'t know the why. It\'s good your grandaughter has such sensitivity. I\'d expect no less from your family. love ya, abby

Thank you for sharing this heartfelt way of honoring dear Camden. I lived in Berwick for a year and half while attending school so this does hit close to home. The sorrow this has caused is beyond imagination and so heartbreaking. Christina found a way to honor him and I\'m sure it helped empower her in a positive way rather than feeling helpless. Thank you for sharing, Linda. With love, Joanie

I am always appalled to hear these types of stories...so very, very sad....this is why I don\'t believe there are guardian angels..that and the death of my own son...I believe there are angels but they are messengers and also guides that lead us to heaven....This little one was led right into the Savior\'s arms....he is safe now forever....God bless Christina for heading this wonderful and loving balloon release....May the mother who killed this baby never ever forget his sweet face as she did this to him....God have mercy.....love to you and Eddie and to Christina...you are loved, Camden....dale, brandon\'s mom

I will never be able to wrap my head around a mother killing her child....horrible beyond words.

So proud of your Christina..and you. Such a wonderful way to honor a precious little boy. He was watching. LOVE was watching. All of our kids in Paradise was with Camden in that moment watching. I believe this.

Christin has such a good heart.

It is horrifying to think a mother could kill her child.
