in all of my glory......
It feels good to be happy..... T is home vegging and watching TV with my husband. It was his girlfriend's birthday - he went and bought decorations, had cake, earned $ to buy her a gift, attended the surprise party and then......came home early.....very early, in fact. So early that he called us asking for us to pick him up. He started walking home and asked for a ride. He says they (gf's family), friend's, and T had a surprise party for her. They then sang happy b-day, ate cake, and then he decided he was tired and wanted to come home! And he called me twice today to let me know where he was and what his plans were! I will give this counselor we're supposed to see tomorrow a chance...... but...it's really difficult to see past his quirks...... I'm trying. I just don't think he listens...even T said that. He likes to hear himself babble. And he talks about his kids too much. I don't want to hear how his teen is struggling. If he were a friend, that is one thing. I just don't think it's very professional. Fortunately, we are doing pretty well right now and aren't desperate for good help. So I will be patient and let things play out. Who knows....maybe he will turn out to be okay.....

Hi! It has been a while, I know... Glad to see things going well at this time and hope for a continuance. At the very least, you know that he knows the good life.. Take care... Clare
Very UNPROFESSIONAL to talk about his family during therapy!!!!!! I\'d call him on it (not listening and cutting into your time/needs) and also therapy process and goals. I am glad you have some breathing space!!!! Take Care!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My therapist sometimes talks too much about her life, and I find that the best way to deal with it is just to blatantly interrupt and say something like \"Wow, we got on a tangent\" or \"We really need to get back on topic here\" or if I have something specific I want to say I\'ll say something like \"Oh, what was I gonna say?\" or \"I wanted to make sure I mention that...\" ...if you\'re blantant about it and confident when you interrupt, the flow of the conversation will be under your control. Just some thoughts :)
Happy to hear that T\'s doing well, checking in, etc! very good signs.
I\'m finally getting around to checking this site again. So glad to see that things are going well with your family and T. Hope all continues down this path. Hugs
Just checking in to see how things are going with T and it sounds like progress is being made. My son is back home for awhile, trying to get his life straighten around. He\'s reading a book your son might like, SAVE ME FROM MYSELF..by Brian\"Head\"Welch..from the band KORN..its how he kicked drugs, the band, and found God....Peace,Joy
