Improving
Well I finally feel like I'm leaving most of the ugliness behind me & am slowly moving forward.
My appetite is finally feeling more normal & believe it or not I'm kind of liking food again. I'm still weary on higher fiber items though & just can't yet bring myself to take steps in adding those back in my diet. There were certain food items that gave me horrendous gull bladder attacks & I'm just weary on those items.
The one thing I do notice though is that I really don't have the capacity for a larger or substantial portion of food. My portion sizes are still on the smaller side & I'm just letting proceed as is I guess.
My weight is still staying down though so I'm just keeping an eye on it. As long as it doesn't go down I'm pleased. A few pounds up though would make me a happy camper.
On alot of levels I can feel how this whole thing now that it's over is the beginning of being able to stabilize the Lupus. I feel like my whole system will breath a sigh of relieve & settle down much better. Energy levels are still a battle though & that I'm finding very frustrating. People keep telling me I have a tendency to expect too much fr myself too fast. Oh well.
My dad is going thru a 2nd round of radiation for his cancer situation. They are hard on him for a time after. A big concern is nutrition while this is ongoing. He lives by himself & well not "disabled" I know he's just not always eating healthy balanced enough foods & it's not going to make things better. I'd like to see a home care type service say go to his place a couple mornings a wk but oh boy trying to sell my dad on that could be quite an undertaking. If he could just see how much it would help put his life on a better less stressful balance. There's a company called Nurse Next Door who will meet with you to fully discuss your expectations & wants. They will provide someone that will do everything fr sit & stare at the walls with you to some med aid, baking, shopping, taking you for appts, play cards, etc. etc. etc. I feel it could be so so beneficial for him but how & the heck to get this ball rolling.
Hubby is holding his own quite nicely I must say. He sometimes has moments where his COPD catches up with the pace he's got going & he has to stop & do some relaxing breathing but he well knows how to pace his days & things to do. Heck, he still comes to the cat shelter every Wed to do as much as he can, so I'm proud of him in that regard. Extensive walking is his one major thing that just so bugs him cause he wants to do & just can't to the extent his mind wants to. He tried my dads walker the other day in the hall way at the apartment building & holy moly what a diff it made. He walked the long hall way faster then he's done in I don't know how long & you can tell he was so happy, he was just grinning. We're thinking we shd invest in one for him & he's already thinking how wonderful it will be to go to the English Garden at city park & walk thru the whole thing, walk the malls, etc. etc. He's almost really excited abt being able to be way more active then he is now, although he still truly does pretty darn good.
I miss being away fr the cat shelter, it's been 3 wks now. There's one young black one called Sassy & me & her just connected over this crazy play time with this crinkle ball & she'd go after my hair when I was bending over cleaning & all sorts of Stuff. She's a wild wacky girl. Hubby says that she really is displaying like she truly misses me. Him & our partner Deanna have tried to play with her & the ball but hubby says she's just not the same. My poor Sassy girl. Sure hoping he'll think abt letting me go back next Wed. My boss there that day says I can just even do light duties for a couple wks. There's a 10 wk old calico kitten called Cheetah & oh man, talk abt tugging at my heart strings but my more sensible side knows that I think I'm looking at her as a Callie replacement type of thing. Got to keep that under control I'm thinking.
Well I think thats abt it for now.
I so love appreciate hearing all my friends thoughts & comments. Love you all my dear friends.
