Imagine. . .

I want you to take a moment and imagine this. The power behind this statement is overwhelming. When I read it, it brought tears to my eyes, and set me off on a journey that I never imagined in my lifetime.

On December 24th, 1968, while families around the world celebrated the arrival of Christmas, a quite different perspective was being seen a couple of hundred thousand miles above the earth's surface. Astronauts Frank Borman, Jim Lovell, and William Anders, aboard Apollo 8 for the historical first manned mission to the moon, looked down in awe and wonder from their lunar orbit at the world below. In a live television broadcast where they showed pictures of the earth and the moon as seen from their spacecraft, the crew ended their transmission with a reading from Genesis.

"For all the people on Earth, the crew of Apollo 8 has a message we would like to send you." said William Anders.

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, 'Let there be light. . . .'"

From the book "I Dare You" by Joyce Meyer

What a miracle that day was for so many around world! They got a glimpse of what our Creator saw when He made the earth! I don't know about you, but I have taken this for granted. I have never looked at pictures of earth like this. When we see pictures of earth. . .we see it from God's eyes! It is a great reminder to me also, that I know very little about Him whom I call my God. How sad that must make Him.
When He created us, He had a purpose in mind for us. We are to be passionate in finding that purpose if we are to serve Him. I wonder how many Christians today can say they are truly passionately seeking His purpose in their lives?

Basically, I just wanted to share with you what I thought was a miracle, I also believe it's an invitation from God, our Creator, our Father, to get to know Him better. To be inspired to read His Word, to feel His Spirit, that same Spirit that moved over the waters that day, to know His Son and the wonderful sacrifice He made for us. I pray you find passion in your heart to look for your purpose that God has waiting for you.
