Imagine

“You may say that I’m a dreamer but, I’m not the only one” is a classic and memorable part of John Lennon’s famous song Imagine. I am a dreamer. I dream big. I find myself wanting to be here instead of facing reality. Is this wrong? At times it is. One must not be in the clouds or be naive about real issues that need to be dealt with. We need to be grounded at times to get things accomplished. When there is uncertainty about life and hope seems to be far away, this is where we need to go. This is the place we need to remind ourselves how things could be, if we all put just a bit more effort into making it so. The goal is to be happy, isn’t it? to accomplish the impossible and make a mark in this World worth leaving. To stand up and say you have contributed to your mission in life (whatever that maybe). I am a dreamer and so let me dream…let me dream and stay here in peaceful tranquility, in hopes that I may find the strength to wash away what is reality and make it better: for you and for me. Without it we would not find the drive in life when we awake. It is destined to be or not to be, it is our choice to make those dreams come true, whether or not they are small or big. Living (dreaming) for today to make a better tomorrow. Thus, here are the lyrics to Imagine.

Imagine there's no Heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace You may say that I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will be as one Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world You may say that I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one

The day we have to give up being dreamers is the day I lose my grip on reality for the final time.

Our reality passes through the lens of our hopes and dreams. This is what provides us with our individual perspectives on reality. Take two people looking at the same reality and you will have two different perspectives. It is the combined existence of all of us that creates the wonderful texture of an interwoven tapestry where all of our lives intertwine to give us what we think of as civilization. But each of us interprets that civilization based on our own individual perspectives that is directly tied into the total, complete person including all of thier individual hopes and dreams.

Take away dreams and hopes and you have nothing as there can be no reality without them.

Those of us that dream and hope not only embrace reality but we possess the POWER to modify it to a great extent based on our hopes and dreams.

And that is what i call a deep and moving entry! I loved every word you wrote...I wanted to read more and more of it...you have a way with words and I feel as if you and I are looking through the same lens on this subject. I could have not said it any better.

I am glad you are my friend here on DS. As friends we can share moments good and bad: to be there when no one else is.

Together we shall stand!!

We can \'brain storm\' the challenges of this life and come up with some \'creative\' solutions and \'work-arounds\'

Life wants to play \'tough\', well, we can be \'tough\' also then and meet the challenge head on.
