Illness Update
Tuesday, December 9, 2008 – 6:30 P.M. This has been one of those days when I have not felt like doing anything, so I have not done anything other than to wait for my new antibiotic to arrive, which did not occur until late this afternoon. The phone call I received yesterday telling me that I had e.coli bacteria has probably freaked me out for the whole week. I have been nothing but a bundle of nerves all day. It probably would not have been so bad if I had not known that three people from this area had died from this within the past month. Upon awakening this morning, I was not feeling very well, so I called up the clinic where I get my physical therapy and told the receptionist that I could not make it today. She asked me whether it was because of the snow (we got six inches of it last night) or illness. I told her about my UTI and the bacteria that is causing it. She was fairly shocked and concerned as she said, "Oh, dang." Throughout most of the day, I felt very nauseated, weak, and extremely tired. I managed to get about three hours extra sleep, while sitting in my chair. Upon waking, I found that I was practically freezing to death even though the temperature in my apartment was 78°. I spent the rest of the afternoon watching a video with the hope that it would take my mind off of my problems. Unless I feel worse tomorrow, I am going to try and make it to see my psychologist. If that works out right, I will also try and go to my physical therapy appointment on Thursday. On the other hand, if I do not feel better by tomorrow, I will cancel both appointments. I know that it is important for me to see both my psychologist and physical therapist, but I also realize that having good health is more important. One or two missed appointments will not hurt that much. There are times when I need to remember that I do have common sense.

I just sent you info on probiotics.
Not sure how they would deal with e.coli. A question for the comp pharm... or Google.
I hope you\'re better today.
