If Not Now When?
Just finished studying Spanish for today, but my heart was not in it. It all started when my dad's doctor said to have a colonoscopy because dad was diagnosed with colon cancer recently. She said an analysis of tumor revealed a hereditary form of the disease. My doctor on the other hand said that a diagnoses at his age(88) does not make it hereditary. Still, tonight I decided to do my research. I've had the info for a number of weeks, but just looked tonight.
What a downer.
I still don't know if I'm going to have the colonoscopy. I want to keep my life in God's hands and just be ready to go home with Him when it's time. Meanwhile, Dad is having another test and i'll be there. The instructions are no cab, you must have someone there. I want to be there, but it made me aware that I don't have a single person I can ask to do the same for me. So even if I wanted the test, how would I get there?
Back to Spanish. I'm enjoying it, but real life does get in the way. Yet, this time I'm dedicated to finishing it. I've had so many false starts--you know--you start out all excited. Then you get bored and don't study and years later have to start all over again. I've wanted to know a foreign language since I was six years old, but could never stick with it. Now, I don't have another 50 years to decide to learn it. It's either now or never.

Sorry dad has tumor and might be hereity too... Scary stuff. I would ask neighbor to take me! I did that when I lived on Guam! My downstairs neighbor took me to my first colonoscopy I put towel on her seat because the trots come with cleanses. Anyway good luck truhal even if not taking test find some friends maybe church if that could be place for you or meetup.com groups where lonely people mingle together to become friends
Am so sorry to hear about your dad. I started having colonoscopy\'s in my late 40\'s. Found a large polyp. Took it out. I have them every 5 years now. Some of the out clinics here have arrangements for drivers if need be. Also some hospitals have volunteers that will help. Main thing is get a base one done. The worst part is the prep, the test you are twilighted for you don\'t remember anything. If you have polyps, they snip them out then, over and done with. I know its a lot to deal with. I wish i could be there to help. Sounds good about the Spanish. Wish I had kept at it after jigh school.
I really hope you decide to have that colonoscopy. They aren\'t really that bad. It is so much better knowing than not. If I were you I would let the doctor know that you had no one to take you. She would probably be able to guide you to someone. Good luck and God Bless.
I believe having the colonoscopy is the right way. God has blessed us with the knowledge that doctors have to spend our time here. If it\'s time for God to bring you home the colonoscopy will not change anything, but I believe it\'s our responsibility to use the gifts that he has given us and medical knowledge is one of them. I know you\'re all right. I have friends and family, but they work. I don\'t want them to have to take a day off work to help me. I could never think of asking. I\'ll check to see if their is a car service.
