"If it were'nt fer bad Luck, I'd have no luck at all"

Thanks to the "Hee Haw" TV Show of several (many) years ago for that song...
"Blue, Despair and Agony on me
                     Deep dark depression, Excessive misery
If it were'nt fer bad luck, I'd have no luck at all
Blues, Despair and Agony on me!"

I have an intermittent problem with my left eye, it is called Chronic Corneal Erosion. I had an injury about 30 years ago...my daughters finger nail cut my left eye... the DR at the time treated it and it healed...we thought. Since then I have had a lot of problems with it collimating in 2005 with several surgeries in that eye and something called "Diamond Dusting", just a slight abrasion to the cornea under anesthesia. OK, let's be honest here...the anesthesia was eye drops to numb the eye, the slight abrasion was a frickin Dremel with the diamond cutting tip! They ground off 1/2 of my cornea while I sat there staring into that darn blue light. The pain afterwards (30 min later) was the worse pain I have ever felt in my life. I cried like a baby for 2 days! I was 56 years old folks. I don't cry!! So since then my left eye does not make tears very much, I have drops ffor the day and a thick ointment I put in at night.
Now jump to 2010.... I now have Glaucoma in both eyes (todays tests were much better) and I have drops for that (working) but two days ago when I awaoke my eyelid was once again stuck to my eye ball...(happens every 8-9 days) and when you open your eyes ...rrrip! another tear. no problem, put the ointment in and in a day or two all gone. right....WRONG!   Soooooo.... jump to the Ophthalmologist's chair and he says... "strange the dye isn't working... tell me...do you get fever blisters?"   Why yes,  I had one on my lower lip just the other day...it's gone now. I said   "Uhuh" he whispered. "Want to guess where it went?" I now have an HSV (Herpes Simplex Virus) infection of the eye. I will be on the BRAND NEW ($$$$) MED "ZIRCAN"  "dO YOU HAVE GOOD INSURANCE?" he asked....yes thank God!
So I came home, driving the 25 miles from Gettysburg to my home. Got out of the car, looked up at the sky and asked..."Did I p** you off again?" .......... I swear I heard laughing from the clouds as I walked into the house....
