I began treatments for Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) including Myelodysplasia Syndrome (MDS) in June of 2009 and just completed the sixth and last course of chemo. If I can be of assistance in telling anyone what to expect and how to handle things, please let me know.  I had infections after the third, fourth and fifth treatments (4th & 5th would be the first two consolidation treatments), and spent some time in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). It was not picnic, but I got through it with the help of the Lord.  Please visit http://BibleThought.org/ for my views on suffering and many other topics. If you think I can help you, please let me know -- dave
