so insects are actually higher up and better than humans. doesn't surprise me at all actually. what isn't better than humans? doesn't say much for humans. amazing how evil humans are.
sitting around enjoying chocolate-marshmallow santas, with chocolate coating by russell stover. unfortunately, reallllly good! lol. i totally love the after christmas day stuff, especially the full 12 days where all pressure is off. slept great last night, made it to 12, lots of fireworks over here, the animals weren't thrilled and i kept walking around the block, looking for any that weren't hiding inside the house. checked again this morning and walked to the park -- a long walk is a nice way to start the new year! Happy Birthday 2016 make it a good one!
wonder how many accidents of all sorts happened - people speed like crazy and you would think there would be plenty of police everywhere. k's present came in, so he got his gifts 3 days late, not too bad. also found two others that i was supposed to give to him, a tommyH cotton sweater and something else. k made traditional southern new year food, soaked blacked eyed peas from scratch and then cooked it with ham in a crock pot. his peas are really good, just like joa's black eyed pea soup with ham bone used to be really good, i'm just not really a bean or pea person. i'm still sick, so not as much alcohol. a little egg nog with alcohol, a little wine and a LOT of water. didn't even open the cold duck for midnight new year eve though i thought about it - it would have been foolish. another guy is sick at work now, whatever that is, it spreads fast. he says it gave him sinus infection that he is already prone to.
slept great. love when that happens, but weird dreams, i was either in italy or some latin country with one of my former travel mates and i got off the sightseeing vehicle to look for a bridge or something and left my luggage and purse and then had to get back to the building that we were staying in, which i did, but without my stuff. i think i have had that dream before and i woke up before it was resolved. weird when you have repetitive dreams, i always assume its a tv or something playing making you have a specific kind of dream.
washed the car while its still warm out. still dragging from illness. yuck. i'm reading the stand, by stephen king again, haven't read it in 35 years and really enjoying it. totally different take and perspective at this late stage of the game. i love movies and books about amnesia and/or end of the world. the movie my brothers brought is supposed to be about amnesia, didn't see it yet. its nice and quiet up here, FINALLY. i absolutely love it here when its quiet like this. wouldn't want to be anywhere else and its the ONLY place that i have this luxury - though its rare nowadays, and it used to be like this all the time a long time ago. don't know if i realized how lucky i was to have that.
also reading the history of auschwitz, which was actually a POLISH town, not german. it was re-named auschwitz by the nazis and used to be considered the jerusalem of europe because 9000 jews occupied that town and had festivals there since the year 1200. it was also a border town next to russia so if there were uprisings it was the first town to get hit. its interesting that they are finally releasing so much information in the passed 20 years about what really went on there. they couldn't before because of the 50 year treaty, so slowly its all coming out. this book has the nazi codes for the people kept there and the reminder is there as well. 6 million jews but also NINE million "others" were killed there and many other concentration camps (as in concentration of people -- before that it was a work camp for laborers, who travelled and worked as their lifestyle). the whole thing reads like science fiction except it actually happened. so odd. this year mein kumpf will be released in germany as the 70 year ban on it from another treaty has expired. wonder if it will all start all over again. unreal.

Hi! I enjoyed reading your journal and your dreams are fun too. I dream really exciting (to Me) dreams. I have repeating dreams too. I wonder if our dreams are another world we go to when we are asleep. I need to write mine down so I won\'t forget them.
I read The Stand years ago too and I still have the book. Stephen King sure has a way of writing to keep his readers coming back for more, I think. I also used to read Dean Koontz\'s books. Actually, I think I have read every one of his. Many years ago that was. Have a happy new year!!!

Humans really have taken a toll on our poor Mother Earth. Sad, but true.
there is a book called creative dreaming, and it tells you to keep a journal of your dreams. some people who have repetitive dreams, the dreams actually end up happening in reality. very strange and they get that de ja vu thing.
i used to read allll the stephen king and judith krantz books as they came out, when i was really young, then after the book It for stephen king, i stopped and after the jewels of tessa kent with krantz, i stopped. i was too busy with college, which has a ton of required reading and when i got back to reading as a hobby and catching up with oscar winning movies and foreign film winners as well, what i read and watched had changed. they are both excellent writers though. i read king\'s jfk book recently. its about time travel and also excellent. his books are longer now, when i was young, if you look at salem\'s lot, fire starter the dead zone, the books aren\'t that long, but the stand and then it, are super long, a lot of his are. so talented.
