God does not need us to identify with the wages of sin and death, cause He already did! Compassion, true compassion is demonstrated from a place of love not identification. Love is the motivation that causes the miraculous to happen.

I totally agree with you that we shouldn't identify with our old sin nature, but I believe we should identify with Christ, and as you said have the same love and compassion He had. As for your last statement, I agree with that too. Galatians 5:6 tells us that faith works by love. When we understand how much God loves us, it's much easier to have faith. And when we have faith, it appropriates what God has already provided through grace. Blessings!
