I Will Never be the Same Again.

[WARNING: The following post contains religious stuff that may not be suitable for all audiences... but you guys can handle it!]There's a song that I like with the lyrics "I will never be the same again..."    Last time I was on tx I kept telling myself - if I ever get over this... if I ever get well again... if my strength is returned to me... I will do amazing things.  I had in mind to do more for others. To advocate for HCV sufferers.  To be more compassionate.  To get out of the rut of working, working, working and maybe do more living, living, living. To get after the important things.  And then I got better. But it wasn't like the lyrics in the song.  "I WAS the same again."  Don't get me wrong, I'm a good guy and do lots of the right things.  But I promised myself I would do MORE if I got well. And I didn't.  Then the relapse.  And here we go again.  But I thank God for another chance. I don't like the suffering but I accept it and if I ever get well again (I leave that in His hands), well then, my friends, I WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN! Really! How about you? Why not set the sights high for the exciting things you can do when you get well again?  Take care team...   JackI will never be the same again,I can never return, I've closed the door.I will walk apart, I'll run the raceAnd I will never be the same again. There are higher heights, there are deeper seas,Whatever you need to do, Lord do in me.The Glory of God fills my life,And I will never be the same again.I will never be the same again,I can never return, I've closed the door.I will walk the path, I will run the raceAnd I will never be the same again. And I will never be the same again. And I will never be the same again.

I know where you are coming from Jack. From living with my spouse with HepC x 2 tx\'s and when I had back surgery. It was a PTSD experience and I remember thinking the same that when I got better I would volunteer with meals on wheels to help other\'s in need. The church we were attending in Va. came to our home for 2 weeks bringing us dinner. I was so very grateful but you know...I didn\'t carry out my promise to myself and God either that I made when i was at my lowest in so much physical and emotional pain. I really wanted my mother there and was upset she was remodeling her kitchen instead. It\'s taken me a long time to get over that one and your entry really reminds me of so much.
It\'s never to late to do for humanity Jack. Try the best you can to get thru each day walking the walk that is in your heart and when this treatment is over let yourself rejoice and do what your heart calls for you. Somewhere, there is a place for Jack...a place you are needed. It will come to you Jack. But, for now know you are in God\'s hands.
And, remember you are loved.
Blessings,
Cindy

I like the way you think Jack.
When I was on treatment, I swore I would help and be an advocate for this cause, since I was too sick to be on the road like most, I started working on websites, today, I have worked on so many of them, I can\'t even give you a number.
I even work on a private site, where members are co infected, they have both HIV & ICV.
They are the greatest people, I love each and everone of them.
By the time we get through this treatment, we do become better people.
After all we are Pioneers of our Time, for doing these combo medication.
Not so long ago this virus, was uncurable, so we are walking the path towards a world without hepatitis c.
I\'m sure you will find your own way towards helping the cause once you recuperate.
The best of luck on your second time around, You truly are one strong Warrior.
Love & Respect,
Mckenzie

Attitude of gratitude opens doors. I promised I\'d do mission work when I completed nursing degree, got opportunities, did it. Never regret it! Even if thats how I got this.
