I want to thank you all
Hello, I am a new member and I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the support and strength you gave me to reach my painful and at the same time liberating decision to walk away from my only child (daughter 35 years) in order for me to save my sanity and break free from the misery she put me trough especially during the last 2 years.
For several months I've been searching on internet for sites and Forum to join that would help me to better understand the situation I was in and to find inspiration and comfort.
It's been a frustrating experience because the vast majority of sites relate to "abused" children that for their sanity need to cut ties with their parents.
So I felt even more isolated and was asking myself: am I the only parent on this earth that feels the abuse is the other way around? Why do I have to feel guilty when I KNOW I have done everything and much more to love, nurture, protect, respect, be loyal, be always supportive, put my child as my first priority, in a word totally dedicate my life to this child and now.... it has become unbearable to even have contact with her. Am I the only ugly human been that feels the need to break free from the misery I didn't choose?
Am I the only parent on this earth that has reached a point that NEEDS to walk away from her/his own child?
I am so grateful I finally found this site full of beautiful people that, although with their hearts bleeding, took the courage and the strength to put their children in the past and look forward to their future.
I admire you all.
