There are seriously no competent GYNs in my area. I want to cry, or scream, or punch something! How hard is it to find a gynecologist who knows ANYTHING about endometriosis? Maybe I'm setting my standards too high. I mean, endometriosis is only a common GYNECOLOGICAL disease that affects MILLIONS of women. Maybe I shouldn't expect my gynecologist to know anything about gynecology.

How is it in 2012 there are OBGYNs practicing medicine who don't know what endometriosis is? It's on freaking Wikipedia! They could use Google! I find it scary, dangerous, and disgusting that these doctors are even practicing. If they don't know gynecology they shouldn't be practicing gynecology.
Right now I'm with a GYN my amazing aunt was able to get me in with. He was really up-to-date on uterine polyps and fibroids, but he was prehistoric about endo. He took care of my polyps and he was really good, but I can't go to him because he doesn't know how to manage my endo. He prescribed me having a baby to cure it...

I just don't get why he's up-to-date on some things and not on others. Why the ignorance around endometriosis? Did he skip that day in med school? Is it too hard to spell on forms? Maybe the pages stuck together in his textbook. I don't know. It boggles my mind.
