I want it, my Mother doesn't

So I graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering. I have had a lot of thought on this and it is really what I want to do. I want to go to a community college and get my Applied Science in Welding Technology. I believe it may help me to be more marketable in Civil Engineering. I got nothing. I know I don't. But my mother doesn't think I should get a welding degree.
I have always wanted to learn welding. I never thought of it as a career, but hey why not for a little while. Im not married, no children. Granted I do have a boyfriend who is in Grad school right now, but he won't get out for two years. So why not get the degree in welding now instead of waiting till I get married.
If I do this I have to pay for it all on my own. Im scared to death. I know nothing about student loans or financial aid. My mother has paid for all of my Bachelors degree. I am very grateful, but I wished I could have had least been beside her learning. I know nothing FASFA so thats what I am going to be educating mysleft for the next two months.
God I don't know why I have all of this running through my brain, but Father I ask that you would be with me. Please Please be with me.
