I've Fallen, But I Did Get Up....
Yes... you know me.... a definite relative of Murphy and his law.... anything that can go wrong, will... Add to the mix that I can be a bit of a klutz.... and I am often that accident waiting to happen.
I have not been on here much but was partly because things have been going fairly well... and partly because there are not many around lately it seems.
I have joined a local gym, eating healthier. had appts scheduled and resolving health issues... and work is being done on the house.
I made a double casserole of a favorite of coworkers (Cheesy Chil Cornbread) and had that , my lunchpail, and a change of clothes for the gym after work in my hands and at barely 4 in the morning I forgot about a small pile of landscaping bricks in the yard. I couldn't see down, so as I stumbled into them everything went flying and my eye smashed into a small pile of leftover lumber from the deck (in front of my car). Naturally this was my RT eye... the one scheduled for cataract surgery next Monday.
After a trip to the ER, I have no broken bones in back or neck (just very badly joustled) but a laceration with 6 stitches and an eye swollen shut all colors of the rainbow.
Ya know, I am very artistic and into writing and enjoying art and all the vivid colors.... but not so much on my face. LOL

Oh sheesh, well first, glad you are ok. Sounds nasty and probably scared the hell out of you at first.
Second, glad to hear you are doing well in spite of your fall!
So many crazy things happening this year, globally, nationally, locally and even in our own backyards, apparently, haha!
I just bought a blank greeting card to send to a friend with a note just checking in to see how she’s doing. The cover of the card is white, with just the following in black type up at top:

Kim glad your ok. As my husband has this week off because he has to use 2 weeks before the end of december because he will lose vacation time. Before he could carry 2 weeks over outve 3 but as of jan 2021 he will only be allowed to carry 1 over, Thursday my husband goes camping with his older brother with a couple of there which I insisted he go and id be ok with the kids because it was his birthday weekend and he does so much for us where sometimes he dont sleep. It started off really well but Saturday morning my megan was running wild around the house then she trips head first into the coffee table hits her chin and 1 of her front teethe pierced thru her lip. So on top of me having a baby whos 6 months I had to have my sister care for the baby while she has a toddler of her own with another on the way care for the baby and it was a long day in the er and i was full of anxiety because i was so worried and on top of covid being around the hospital is the last place i wanna beand it got infected because of the fact it was a human bite and the antibiotics have been a mess on her stomach.
Im sorry kim that will change your surgery now.
It seems falls are theme here. I fell month or more ago also. No stitches just jammed my surgically repaired shoulder and hand. Also hurt the foot too. Uggh

Ouch,,Kim Kim....sorry to hear about your fall..other things sound very positive...Hope you feel better quickly and your a good healer.. Just tell them you should see the other guy...LOL

Thanks for all the get well wishes. By now , with the meds , aches and pains are here, but tolerable. The blasted eye keeps swelling shut and is far too many "pretty" colors. :(

Oh Kim, so sorry about this. I’m glad to hear that things were going well before and so I’m sure you can get back to that flow. Invest in some solar walkway lights. Not real bright but enough to guide you away from road hazards.

Today I look like a cross between a lop sided raccoon and a stitched up rag doll. Lol.
Feeling ok. Had to jiggle scheduling around for things but is done.
@finallyawake....I suggested a couple small solar lights but BIL says with short days they will not last long. He's gonna put a motion sensor on the corner of the house. That will serve double duty
..light up if I don't put light on if gone longer than I expect...or to light my path out.
