I think she dropped!
I had my weekly appointment this morning which was uneventful. I have been pretty misreable the last 3 days at work. I mean to the point where I've thought seriously about going home early just because I can't even concentrate. I just keep sticking it out. But this morning, I woke up feeling pretty good despite the fact that I went to bed late. I didn't realize until AFTER my appointment and during my walk to work from the train, which is about a mile, that I think she dropped a bit. I didn't think it was possible because she's breech, but I realized that I could actually breath better and I even felt lighter. The mile walk was easy and I felt great! When I got to my office, I made the conclusion that she did drop. My co-workers even said my belly looks different so I'm sure she did. Okay so I'm still uncomfortable, but now I feel like I have some relief! It's nice.
I work as a paralegal for the legal department of an insurance company. Today I talked to HR and confirmed my maternity leave dates. My last day here is July 7th and I will coming back on September 20th, 10 weeks and 2 days. Seems so far away but I know it will fly by. If I do end up getting a c-section, I qualify for short-term disability which pays 70% of my salary for 2 weeks. Not much, but better than nothing. It pays for my insurance premiums that I was going to have to use vacation days for. My work has hired a temp and she will start on July 1st at which time I will be training. So for as far behind as I am, I have to get my butt in gear and get workin! No more tying journal entries in Daily Strength!
So this weekend is our weekend to put stuff together. The car seat installed, the stroller, the pack n play and the bouncey seat. The nursery is completely done with all her clothes washed and put away. We still have to order her cloth diapers but we have some as gifts to start. Lastly, I'm going to Target with my girlfriend to pick up last minute items from my registry I didn't get and stuff I need for breast feeding that I really didn't get any of for my shower, like nursing pads, nipple cream, a few accessories for my pump, storage bags and last minute baby necessities like mylicon which my gf says is liquid gold! I can't believe we will be holding our baby girl in less than 2 weeks.
