I think I did the right thing.

Saturday night burglars attempted to break into Melany's flat through the roof, while she and her little girl were inside. Fortunately the owner of the flat as well as the security people responded quickly and scared the burglars away! Her friend then stayed with them for the rest of the night, until the roof could be fixed again on Sunday. It was a very traumatic experience for both of them, and I felt terrible about it! That same night burglars attempted to break into my home as well, but fortunately my landlord's dogs scared them off. I was so tired that I only discovered the "forced open" windows when I got up in the morning. The dogs scared them off before they could break through the burglar proofing. 

This is a bad time in South Africa, because satan's children are murdering white people all over, and nothing is done about it. But I believe that our God is still in control, and that He will keep His children safe, according to His will. This makes me feel a bit better about letting Melany move out of my home at this time. She will now grow stronger and more confidant by facing these difficulties on her own. And I believe that her relationship with God will also grow much stronger now! This is also a good example for my granddaughter, to learn to trust in God, and not on her own strength and wisdom alone. 

Some good also came from Melany's traumatic experience: the owner of the security firm offered her free membership and protection, because she knows how small Melany's salary is. Also Melany's friends were there for her when she needed them, proving that they are true friends. Now I know that Melany will be ok!

I feel much calmer being alone with Colleen in this house. I now have time to get myself back together again. And my relationship with Melany is slowly improving. Finally my life is moving in a positive direction again! My mom is coming to visit me for a week, and I plan for us to bake a lot of cookies while she is here. We always fight when we get together, because I can never be the way she wants me to be. But I still love her and need her to be my mom, no matter what!
