I set myself up for disappointment
I set myself up for disappointment. I always think I am going to hear from him and then dont and I get real down. I wish I could stop getting excited and telling myself that today will be the day, I mean its good that I look forward to hearing from him but at the same time I think I hurt myself because I am to eager.

I get disappointed too when I don\'t get a call, but the next day I usually hear him talk about how he waited in line to use the phone for an hour (instead of going outside) and never got a turn and had to think of how disappointing it must have been for him. Maybe you can write down all the things you would have said to him if you had the chance and send it to him in the mail? Hope you hear something soon!
Ya I know. I normally make a list of things that I want to talk about, but the lists get so long that I normally only get to talk about a couple. I sent a long email yesterday to him, thought I would have gotten a response back but didn\'t.
I have sent four cards, he has gotten two, the third he should get tomorrow and the fourth i mailed today so maybe Friday. He enjoyed the first two cards a lot, I think theres something to the CO\'s calling out your name for mail...i dont know...just kinda that knowing that someone cares and is sending you something...and the excitement of opening it and reading it and all.
I expect tomorrow I will hear something, but then again I dont know if I should be thinking that or not...lol
The mail is really important to them in there its contact to the outside world for them.
Hmmmm maybe work out a day or time for him to try and call you yep it can be hard for them to get to the phone its a case of calling when they can sometimes.

I think we will end up trying to figure out a weekly time for him to call. He told me in his first call that it had to wait awhile, but told me it was totally worth it.
Thankfully he can use an email system which is also nice! I just got my account set up the other day and got a very nice email from him, so thats very exciting! Just I will have to figure out how often he can check/use it on his end.
I try and send a news article from the paper or an inspirational poem or something in all of the cards.
That\'s great that you guys can email ( can\'t do that in Australia) hopefully they let him on there to see them regularly.
Your doing all the right things sending him the things out of the paper and poems try finding things that will give him a laugh too or maybe recipes of food that he likes.
When my guy first got this phone privileges, he called me every night - until he found out that he has time limits, that is. Calling the same time of the week is a good idea because it\'s something you can both look forward to. ^o^
