I Saw The Jungle Book (2016) Tonight..
My thoughts on The Jungle Book 2016:
I told myself I was seeing it tonight. I did. I. Loved. It.
The CG effects were beyond my expectation.
The casting was great! I didn't even mind in the slightest that Scarlett Johannson was Kaa. It just threw me in the trailers because I'm so used to Mowgli being seduced by Winnie the Pooh.
I mean, there was enough honey on the movie to remind us of this fact. Like a crazy amount of honey.
Speaking of Mowgli I think that Neel Sethi did a great job. Especially as a new actor AND acting around a bunch of CG effects. Well done little man cub!
Bill Murray, Ben Kingsly, Idris Elba, Scarlet Johannson, and Christopher Walken... great cast! I could listen to Christopher Walker sing "Walk Like You" all day long.
Bagheera was always my favourite, and Ben Kingsly did an awesome job! Though you should expect no differently.
The shenanigans in this adaption played out differently in comparison to the others before it and to me it's a pleasant relief. The thought of how each animal behaves, all the expressions: Everything.
It all moved along at a good pace, and if you've considered seeing it, I say go! I loved this retelling. Not because it's the same story, but because it took the nest possible direction. Without wishing to spoil anything, the ending wax predictable, but excellently done.
