I really have this disease??? You can't be serious

I was diagnosed January 2016 with narcolepsy/ cataplexy. I was completely set off guard when my doctor told me of this condition. I went in thinking I had sleep apnea as my dentist noticed ridges on the sides of my tongue. This was an indication of gasping for air in the middle of the night. He asked me if I woke up in the middle of the night and I would always wake up around 3 am every night. He said that women tend to wake themselves up when they grind their teeth as it is an automatic thing we do so we don't ruin our teeth. All that being said spending $440 on a night guard, I decided to go get tested for sleep apnea. I went in for a test and what do you know... The doctor said " I have Good news and bad news... "Good news is you don't have sleep apnea... Bad news is you have narcolepsy" I was in shock.. " isn't that when you just fall asleep" " well there are different types of it and let's try to start u on medicine." I went through a series of more test and started Nuvigil in the morning and riddlin in afternoon. I actually became a new person. I finally knew what it felt like to be normal. My job performance improved, my relationship with my husband was enjoyable, my kids respected me. It was hard to hear that I had this disease but relieved to know I wasn't crazy.
