I picked it:
After a couple of frosts, I touched it. It was soft. I could tell it was ripe and ready for picking and ready for the next stage of its life being…”food”.
”I ate it :) It was sooooo good. It tasted better because I watched it grow from birth. From when it was a baby pear, all the way to adulthood. It was the anticipation of waiting 4 long months to eat it …….taking care of it along the way and feeding the tree....watering it …... kinda like.....
Human relationships....Like when you don't see someone for a long time. While they are gone, living their lives, growing like my pear, you think about all the best parts of them so that when you see them again, it's such a great feeling, you never want it to end but it always does because that’s what life is and it happens in all of our relationships whether it be with another person, or an animal or a tree...It does not matter. All life is Precious! .
God Bless

It was such a momentous occasion, I wanted to take a photo of myself picking it. I tried to take the photo but it was so ripe, it fell off the tree when I touched it but I caught just before it hit the ground! Kinda felt like I was playing football and I caught a pass!
You guys can tell, it doesn't take much to amuse me :)
I’m the same way; simple pleasures of life. I’m a little dismayed that you had frosts. I have plants still producing and not ready to go to store.
But like you said, impermanent. Trying not to get too attached.
That is wonderful catching it - a beautiful way to really appreciate the entire experience!
So happy it tasted delicious!
It's the tiny moments that often bring us precious joy!
Its always nice when one takes pleasures in simple joys.
Bob, you are so sweet! Thanks for staying in touch. God bless you, always!
I feel the same with my vegetable garden. Just picked some green beans today, maybe the last for this season. I can taste them smothered in butter & pepper tonight. Thanks for sharing your rewards for being nurturing & patient! Hugs! Brooke
I'm glad that you enjoyed your pear so much.... Teeth off of the friends though....lol.... Big squishy hug......xo
The little baby pear grew up.........................................and then you ate it :)
Aw I'm so glad you got to taste your pear and that it was perfectly ripe! There are many moments in life that are special and to be grateful for and this seems like nature's way of giving you something in return for all you do for nature and for other people showing them unconditional love and support x
People who don’t garden never know that feeling of growing, picking and eating what you grew and it’s so hard to explain.
