I NEED YOUR PRAYERS
I am having alot of problems with my back and am looking to have a major surgery on my spine within the next month or so.I am in constant pain from several bulging discs and several small tumors on my spine. The pain is so bad that I can't stay in any one position for any length of time,so I don't get any sleep at night and they keep me going all day and I don't get any rest a during the day either. I am so worried about the grandbabies because I really don't have any one to help care for them if and when I have this done.I am so afraid that if the statefinds out they will come take my boys away from me. My hubby tries to help but he is not well either and they run circles around him.Their mother is not allowed to be around them[by court order]so she can't help me.My youngest daughter and I have had a huge falling out and we haven't talked in some time now by her choice.I don't even have anyone that I can leave them with for an hour not to mention some one who can or will help care for them during and after I HAVE THIS surgery. So please keep me in your prayers to be able to figure how to care for myself and make sure they are cared for in the process and not taken from me.

Do you have a relationship with a church? If so that may be a resource.
What helped me the most with back pain is to make a list of stuff that can make your pain worse, like picking up a child, or bending at the waist and not using your legs. The cumulative effect of all these little things can be significant. Another thing is experiment with your mattress. If hard is best put a piece of plywood between the mattress and box springs. If soft is better (me) get a foam mattress or do what I did, get a 3 foam mattress cover at Wal-Marts (about $90.00). You might want to think about seeing a pain management doctor and putting the surgery off until the timing is better. I doubt you will be pain free after the surgery from what you have written. It is a hard thing to accept but life isnt fair. An antidepressant can really be a help as well. I think for people like us with chronic pain antidepressants make a bigger difference than narcotics. That is another thing to consider. A good pain management doc can keep you at a point where most of the pain is under control but you are not loopy and can function, even work without anyone noticing. You lose the high feeling before you lose the pain control. There are a few narcotics that limit the high and the pain control is such that you dont have to raise the dose that fast. Like most drugs, what works for one person might not with another.
Hope this helps and I will put you on my prayer list.
I\'ll be praying for you. I\'m sorry you are having such a hard time. Do your grandkids have DD caseworkers that could help you get temporary help while you have and recover from the surgery? I know it\'s different in different places, but here they have something callled \'diversion funds\' that are supposed to used for things like respite to help keep the kids from going into foster care. Maybe they have this in your area? I hope things work out for you and the kiddos.
