I need more time!
I have to fine doctors that can prescribe the medication that the girl and I have been taking - the doctors in Maine cannot and probably will not renew the prescriptions, and it has been hard to find doctors here.
I have not found a doctor for myself at all, and only found a therapist for the girl, and only because the name came up when I was doing a search for myself. She is the one who was working for the state when the girl was in foster care and saw her then.
I've found nobody for myself, not a therapist, PCP, or prescribing doctor for the psych meds. I fail completely to understand why the HELL they make it so hard on the mentally ill to get meds that help them stay UNDER CONTROL!!!!
I have a good supply, however, I have not had a blood test in quite a while, and should have had one months ago. The girl, as well, should have had a blood test, but her Psychiatrist quit months ago, and her PCP was not up to the job, anyway.
I got a letter telling me that my Psych in Maine was quitting, and I'm not surprised, because everybody up there quits. She was the third I dealt with, and the girl went through at least 3, as well.
What a place I escaped from - nobody wants to work there. Nobody stays, nobody wants to service the residents. It wasn't just the doctors, either, it was the other professionals, as well. I had to pay through the nose to get work done on my house, because they had to come up from the nearest city - nobody local was reliable.
So, now I am down here, and most of my time is taken up by my family - and the girl isn't making it easy. She's gotten into a spot of trouble at school (her big mouth) and has been yelling at me because she expects me to get her out of trouble, and I'm letting her face the consequences of her actions. But I don't have the time to look for the doctors I need and I am running out of time.
Up in Maine there was a waiting list to see any psychiatrist, so whenever they quit you had to wait for a few months to get in to see another one. The girl's quit and left the prescriptions with her PCP, who is quite unfamiliar with psych meds, and mine is leaving at the end of the month.
Most PCPs won't prescribe psych meds, so you have to have both a PCP and a Psychiatrist, although why a therapist isn't allowed to prescribe is beyond me - they know you the best.
So we each need to have 3 "providers", and so far I have only found 1 of 6.
