I need a rant

Just writing because I really feel like I need a rant and need to let some of these awful feelings out. I hate feeling like this, I feel exhausted...both physically and emotionally of living with RA.I have had RA for 2 years now but still am feeling that it is not fair for me to have it at my age. I am 20 years old...I should be out with my friends...not laying in my bed with an electric blanket to try and relief the pain in my hips.I have RA in my hands, wrists, fingers, elbows, shoulders, knees, hips, ankles and toes so pretty much everywhere and I hate it!I am in tears at the moment whilst writing this!I know I am not the only young person with RA and I wish I could just make this horrid condition just dissapear so that everyone who suffers from RA could be set free from this wicked life.I am completely grateful that I don't have anything worse than RA. I just wish I didn't have RA (as you all probably do the same)I have hit rock bottom with this and am totally fed up with having it!I'm not sure if I am angry or upset about it...I think maybe a bit of both. But surely after 2 years I should have accepted it by now...? Sorry about the rant...just needed to let some of my frustrations out.Lucyxx

Lucy, I am so sorry that your big band adventure ended up with what sounds like a new flare...Please read my message to your personal e-mail to see some suggestion on what you might do about it. Here I just wanted to say that given your condition, you have every right to be unhappy. It has nothing to do with your age. No one, at any age, should suffer pain like you do. I know how difficult it is to actually do something when you are in such pain, but, you have to act and you have to act now. Share how you feel with friends or family and ask them to support you at this time and not just by listening to you rant but also by taking you to a doctor (if you need help), sitting with you in the doctor\'s office to make sure that you are not alone there, and helping you around the house until you feel better. And, yes, my sweetie, you now know that you will have to build your strength gradually before you go on another band adventure. If you do, you will do it again (or you will do other fun stuff) and you will feel better. Hugs. Linda

You are correct. It is SO UNFAIR, especially at your age. It IS horrible.

LindaRoss is right. Let it out. Scream if you want to. Holding all those feelings in only makes it worse - I think. I can\'t tell you how much I cried before I finally got some help/relief. There really IS a connection between our minds and our bodies. I am so sorry you have to deal with this, and am praying for you.

Better days ahead, friend!

Lucy:

I am so sorry that you have to go through this crap. I\'m 58 and sometimes I just need to rant. I cannot be imagine being your age and having to deal with the pain and fatigue (I had other things I was dealing with but nothing like RA). Linda\'s suggestions are really good ones and I hope you listen to them. You know you are on a safe site where you will get total support from the people here. We are here for you and know what you are going through because we\'ve been or are there. One of the hardest things I had to learn was being real with people about what was going on with me and asking for help. I had always been the strong one, the leader, and the self-sufficient person. Well, life changed.

Feel free to vent anytime or email me. I\'ll be there for you.
