I miss you guys!!!
Fist off...let me wish everybody a great memorial day weekend...hope everybody enjoyed themselves and didn't eat too much! Lol! Second...you guys are like my second family I apologize for not logging on in quites some time. I have been a little busy with work, I got a new position as a Field Engineer so I have been traveling a ton over the past couple of months, Shanghai, Toronto, California, Texas just to name a few. Interestingly enough though, I am doing great, I have another 10 lbs since my last update bringing me down to 225, 10lbs away from goal. I still shock people that haven't seen me in some time, and those that have seen me just a few months ago are still amazed, lol! I have to admit that it's doing wonders for my self-confidence and giving me the courage to try things that I didn't think I would be able to do. That being said, I have decided to try something a little extreme, but not too bad though. I ran into a good friend of mine that I used to work with years ago. He immediately noticed my change in appearance and was flabbergasted...haha! But wait, it gets better....turns out he is the head coach for a local semi-pro football team here in Delaware. He handed me a business card and enthusiastiacally invited me out to training camp and tryouts which begin in July! Whoa! Will I do it? My gut says YES!! Go for it! Naturally there are some concerns, although I have been working out regularly and I am pretty much in the best shape that I have been in a long while, I am 35 and my body may not be able to do the things it used too! Lol! Nevertheless, the though of being back out on the gridiron is intoxicating, no way I would evven have this opportunity if I still weighed 350lbs. I have to try it and find out what I have left. 2 years ago, I tore my achilles tendon playing basketball and my Doc told me that if I recouped well enough that I could play again, but I got laxed after the injury and ballooned up to 350lbs. The lack of mobility really slowed me down and I got depressed and just gave up on ever pursuing an active lifestyle again, that was before my GBS. Now, I feel like I can do almost anything, I have been training hard these past couple of weeks and my body feels okay so far. Pray for me guys, this is huge for me. I won't be destroyed if I don't make the team, I really just want to know where things stand with me. I promise to keep you guys posted on my progress! In the meantime I hope everybody is doing well and enjoying positive moments your lives as well! Court
