I May Be A Border Collie
A recent post on the For Moms Only Discussion posts came to mind as I was reading Katrina Kenison's blog today. What is a gentle day... Today... this moment at least... I am feeling that life is with all the pain... treating me gently...
Here is a link to the blog I was reading:

She said she is through with yearning for yesterday... that she is ready to be grateful for today and to move forward... as always I really love her writing... but I have to say... I wonder how she would feel if she lived as we do with having had a child(ren) cross... I do not know how it would be to feel differently... I have to live with where I am today and what has gone before...
I got a real chuckle at Katrina's story about the recent walk she and her husband and two sons took with their dog... She said her dog, a border collie's idea of heaven seems to be when she has all of her family "herded" together... I so get it... I think I may be a border collie... The desire to have my family, as it was, all taking a gentle walk sounds perfect...
Like I said... I just don't know how or even if I should worry about letting go of the yearning... Ours is not the same experience as that of mothers who have not had to watch their child(ren) go before them... I just wanted to share with you my friends what a gift Katrina Kenison's writings are. I want to encourage you to indulge yourself... Lose yourself in gratitude for your life... I do not know if I will ever stop yearning to some degree... I do not see how I can not mourn that Cara did not live to understand how special her ho hum everyday life was... Still I have come to understand that in spite of my mourning my yearning for what is not and will never be... I am grateful for what was and is... Wishing you all a gentle day. Hugs Elissa
