I'm working on it
Yesterday, got some cleaning done and some relax time in. Watched a movie. Did great all day on the food until dinner, and then Oh boy! Bad portions, and yup! Chocolate cake for dessert. I am such a wimp! I read other people's journals about making smart choices. But today, I ate well and got in some water. So far so good. Chinese food for dinner: Tropical Chicken, which is fruit and chicken in a fruit sauce. Just love that pineapple and mango! Yum! Will do my walk with the dog tonight. Ate 99% Fat Free Progresso Minestrone soup for lunch. Will take the dog out after dinner I guess. Have to keep busy afterwards and avoid the kitchen at all costs! In the Dr. Phil book, it says about changing habits and he said that one of the things he did was avoided coming in the house through the laundry room every night when he came home from work. Coming into his house this way, made him go through the kitchen. By coming in through another door, he bypassed the kitchen altogether. Now, my kitchen, breakfast room and family room are all one big huge room. But, I can exit the family room and breakfast room, and go around the kitchen through the dining room and down the other hall to the bedrooms. So I am going to try for 1 week to skirt around the kitchen except when cooking or getting water! I am also getting a good night's sleep tonight, going to bed, setting my alarm and going to the Y tomorrow. Just chatting with my August buddy tonight and a thought came to me: since summer started or just before, is when my own struggles started. It seemed easier in the winter and Spring. I realize that a large part of it is NO routine in the summer. Son off school. No planning ahead as much. Eating much later. So I have to do a little better for myself to schedule things for msyelf better. I tried this before and did not stick with it. I will schedule "me time" and schedule my exercises better and my work and even OT! I will actually plan a couple of nights to work OT and stick with it. Maybe this will work for me? Got in over 11,000 steps on Saturday, but not yesterday. My butt has been planted at this desk all day today. I am in big trouble for today even with a long walk. Uh oh.

it\'s great that you are making a plan for yourself.. hope you enjoy your nights sleep and the time at the Y...
Wow what did you do on Saturday to do 11,000 steps .. that is so fantastic...
Your such a sweet heart! Hang in there, I haven\'t been doing my best, I totally understand. It\'s tough and someday we will get there - just keep fighting right and never give up. Do what we can and hopefully someday this all will be part of our normal daily routine - I SURE HOPE SO!!!! I like Dr. Phil, that\'s a great idea - same here, pass the kitchen/dinning no matter what direction I go in. How do you avoid the kitchen, hhhhmmmmm - it would be easier if living alone, single right and nothing in the house! Have a great night. Thanks for always being there, will catch up on your other journals tomorrow, wanted to give you a quick message before bed - never forget about ya! Great job on your steps!!!
Locks and keys and now no going in rooms!! LOL Made me laugh sugar. Too funny. You go right ahead and do whatever works!!! We\'re with ya.
Hoping the sun is shining for you and you are feeling good.
Great idea to avoid the room with the temptations. I am going to have to read Dr. Phi\'s book. And how insightful of you to realise the lack of routine is something that is contributing to your problem.
You are going to get this done!
