I'm on a roller coaster of emotioooooonnnn!!!
The last few days have been a mixture of emotions. I have been so sad for the victims of Sandy Creek Elementary. I choose not to glorify the jerk that committed such a heinous crime. It would only serve to give some other crazy person a goal to achieve. To go further and kill himself in an even more fantastic way. Despite the horrendous nature of the crime, it is still fantastic. It did what he intended. His name is now famous.
Ok. Enough about all the sadness. I will continue to pray for all of the people affected. That is all I can do.
Yesterday started out miserable. My sister in law was trying to wash her clothes for work, and discovered the washing machine no longer spun. Wonderful! We are ridiculously close to Christmas, let's have a catastrophe that costs a bajillion dollars! So to avoid angry emotions, I went to my mom's. While I was there, my baby decided to start walking! Her first steps. I was so happy I cried. Then we took a family outing to the local pizza place and shared some pizza and laughs. My poor baby was so tired, I brought her home right after lunch for a nap. My husband went out to look at options for a new washer. Within an hour I had a brand new washing machine AND drier! I know it may seem silly. But I have been using this tiny little portable washing machine that held 2 pair of pants 3 shirts and a pair of underpants. I was able to wash 5 sheets and some pillow cases last night. I did a load with 8 pair of jeans after that! I hadn't realized how crappy my drier was until I used the new one. Dry clothes in under an hour? Unheard of. And I don't have to lean a heavy object against the door to keep it shut. I can't begin to tell you how many happies I have now. Sure, Christmas is going to be a little tight. But we will have clean clothes to wear to dinner. Haha!
I realized yesterday that there are too many precious moments in life. I tend to get caught up in things and forget to appreciate the small things. I have decided from now on, to try and let the little things go. I will enjoy the happy times more thoroughly. I'll hug my baby just a little bit tighter, laugh at stupid mistakes just a little bit harder, and I won't have a complete coronary over something as trivial as a dead washing machine. I'm going to cherish all of the good, and leave behind all of the bad. I have so much more than many people. I am so lucky to have what I do.
Right. So that's my thoughts for the day. :)
