I'm Not The Only One

Last night, Jeff & I went to an infertility support group that is sponsored by our new RE. It was extremely relieving to know that all the horrible things that go through my mind are also things that others going through infertility think of. Even though it was only my first meeting, I haven't felt this tranquil in about 2 months. It was such a relief to be able to say all the things that you're not supposed to say/think.

There was a girl there my age that is just starting IVF, and I feel like she gets a lot of the emotional roller coaster that's associated with infertility. I may try to reach out to her individually at the next meeting so that I can try to build a stronger support network around myself. I also met another woman going through secondary infertilty. Her & her husband have done 8 rounds of IVF & they've had 5 lost pregnancies! I felt so bad for her because I could tell that she was going through it worse than I was, but I was really glad that she was there. Younger than me, it just goes to show that age doesn't always play a factor in success.

I am trying to find some optimism in all of this, but the strength of my faith is still rather shaky. Maybe after a few more support group meetings, I'll consider having a consultaition with a local pastor about some of my concerns/issues.

Today ahs been a really mellow day for me, which I haven't had in a while. Jeff & I are trying to distract ourselves by dropping some weight & getting healthy. I hope it works. LOL.
