I\'m not Ready!

I got my period today.  Here is why that's no good: 1) It's only Day 24.  I usually run long, not short. 2) My upcoming-period pimples only just showed up today.  They usually show up a week before AF.  3) I'm really not a pre-period spotter. 3.5) Devil's advocate: well, I did seem to ovulate early this month.  So maybe my Luteal Phase was the right length after all.  I hate knowing what a Luteal Phase is and how long it lasts.  4) I had this (secret?) desire to magically be pregnant this month, without intervention.  My boobies were sore for a while.  I think they might still be sore, but asking myself whether they still are is like asking myself whether I fell asleep during a nap.  If I don't know the answer (for the boobs), then they're probably not sore.  And if I don't know whether I fell asleep, then I probably fell asleep.  That one always gets me. 5) I'm supposed to start birth control pills this cycle, ramping up to the Lupron on Day 19 or so.  But I haven't filled my BCP prescription.  Luckily they gave me a prescription already, even though we haven't signed our contract with, or (ahem) paid!, our new clinic yet. Okay team, I have a plan.  I'll write it in numbered paragraphs too, to emphasize to you (and me) how orderly and logical it is. 1) Go home and say hello to my Dad, with my pimply face and sticky underwear.  Dad is getting to the airport as I write, on a visit from Texas.  Apparently he traveled with his sister, Aunt Flo.  But somehow she got here first.  Maybe she didn't check any luggage. 2) Rifle through my IVF file and dig out the prescription.   3) Run with it to the drugstore before they close, and while I'm waiting for them to fill it, get a pregnancy test. 4) Pay full price for the birth control pills, because even though Insurance will pay for Viagra, it will not pay for BCP except where "medically necessary." The fact that the pills are medically necessary for this medical process is irrelevant, because this medical process is not medically necessary.  Ask my panties and pimples whether reproductive matters are an essential part of human biology.  Yes, my panties and pimples have a lot to say to Insurance Companies.  To say nothing of my ovaries and that all-important pituitary gland. 5) Go home and pee on a stick while James is entertaining Dad.  When the lines invariably scream their silent "NEGATIVE" at me, curse my fate and figure I'll take the pill later that evening.  6) Go downstairs and chit-chat with Dad about how his flight was, and whether he had any leg room, and the pros and cons of flying standby.   7) Later, at bedtime, bury my face in James's chest.
