I\'m NOT crazy!!

With the exception of DS, I rarely have anyone to talk to who understands my life.  My sister-in-law, Liz, called today just to talk.  She's a stay-at-home mom too, and she feels isolated and alone just like me.  We were talking about our husbands (mine being her oldest brother), and it was nice to know that she understands what I'm going through.  Our husband's say the exact same things to us- with the exception that hers isn't abusive.  But at least now I know I'm not crazy.   I never look at things like I am the only one that has these things happen to them.   I know it's not just me. I miss Liz ALOT.  I always had regrets about moving back to Ohio because Jonathan isn't growing up around other kids his age.  Rob's youngest sister is only 2 years older than Jonathan, and Liz's son Oliver just turned 2.  Jonathan is the youngst kid in my family, with the next youngest kids being 13 year old twins, Ethan and Emily.  He's the only litle kid in the family.  I have a cousin, Alex, who is just 10 months old, and they live in Indiana.   He doesn't get to go to birthday parties or play with the other kids in my husband's family.  And, aside from my mom, I don't get to talk to other mom's who know what I'm going through.  My mother-in-law is only about 10 years older than me (she's Rob's step-mom, obviously), and she knows what it's like for me too.   I miss having her and Liz to talk to and hang out with.  These days, the most conversation I have is with a 5-year-old boy and a cat.  My mom's great, but let's face it- she's my MOM.  I can't talk to her about most things because, well- she's my MOM.  She doesn't exactly wanna hear about my choce of birth control, what clothes are on sale, or about anything else that interests me.  She's a grandma now, and she has better things to do than listen to me talk about a pair of shoes that I want.  Too bad I can't go to Illinois without Rob- he doesn't want to move back there just yet.  It would be wrong of me to leave and live with his family.  I could leave and live with mine, that's OK.   My boyfriend before Rob lived with my parents after we broke up, and let me just say that it was VERY uncomfortable!!! So, anyways, I miss Liz and I wish we didn't live so far apart!!! :-(

I know what you mean, the only time I talk to other grown-ups it\'s online, which to be honest just isn\'t the same. A couple of weekends ago we went to the river to visit with my husband\'s brother and his wife and kids. His sister who was one of my best friends in school was there also. We had so much fun... I laughed until i hurt. It just makes me realize how miserable I am in my everyday life. At home when I smile I feel so fake....I just feel empty.

Sorry for rambling.

I absolutely understand all of this as I am online typing more than I talk. I have 2 kids, 7 yr old son and 9 yr old daughter and I am 47.
Moms are definitely not understanding the way
you wish they would be. Childofgrace i can also relate to the fake smile. I havent had a good belly laugh or fun to laugh in so long I cant remember.
Melinda just remember we are here to talk to , and i know I will always answer back, if when my frowny face is on LOL
I hope things get alittle better for you , or easier to deal with
