I\'m my own tech support
My wife's laptop has had nothing but problems lately. So beng the wonderful, considerate (not to mention humble) and self sacrificing husband that I am, I pulled out her warranty and called into tech support. Of course I had to spend about 40 minutes dealinng with automated options before I was put in touch with Rasheed somewhere in India. We spent the better part of an hour trying to converse with limited success. Rasheed decided that he would have replacement parts sent to our house. This converstion took place yesterday and the parts arrived today. While I have to admire the efficiency of their courier service, I'm a bit disappointed in their service. My wife's warranty called for in-house repair. Little did I know that the in house technician was me. Sooo I spent the afternoon and early evening replacing the hard drive, the DVD drive and reconfiguring the computer to our router. I am pleased that I was able to accomplish all this but feel the warranty was not honored. But who knows? Maybe it was. I don't seem to remember how I injured my foot so maybe I don't remember getting a job with this computer company. (I won't mention the name of this electronics giant...but it rhymes with Bell.) The only thing that has me doubting this is that the company seems to outsource to India. Given my memory, maybe I live outside New Delhi. Just call me Achmed... or is it Tom? I don't know anymore. Tom (I think) p.s. I guess I didn't elevate my foot as much as I should have. It's a bit puffier today. It doesn't hurt as much though so that's a good thing. Be well,Tom
