I\'m Home

Yes.  Finaly I am home from a very long day.  The drive down was not too bad except I was supposed to get off a Lockwood.  But there was no sign for Lockwood.  It did have a big H for hospital but it was too late by the time I saw it,  so I had to go to the next exit.  Wasn't too bad though.  My appt. was for 11:00 but I got there at 10:30.  I didn't get in to see the Dr. till 1:00.   Then it was get undressed and put one on those gowns on and sit there in the examining room and wait again.  When I finaly met her I did like her very much.  I didn't know that they still do a pap smear when you don't have a cervex or uterus anymore.  But she did.  She also saw a "tag".  A little piece of skin that she took a biopsy on also.  She doesn't think the CA-125 is a good test for me since it was only 195 starting out before surgery.  After chemo it was 2.  She said the CT scan will tell alot more.  I did have the blood test before I left and I have to call tomorrow to set an appt. for the CT scan.  It was 3:30 when I finaly left there.  I got home at 4:10.  I hit a little bit of traffic.  It is only 25 miles.  So glad that part is over for now.  I won't be as nervous driving down there next time.  I guess it is true.  You have to face your fears.  So good to be home. Love to you all Anita

I think I had a banana flavored contrast. It wasn\'t so bad, and the iodine IV didn\'t bother me at all.

Well done , for such patience and a steady head . It is never easy to drive and find a new distant place first time and go through the stress of a new doctor , tests and then the long drive back home !
well done !

I\'m really pleased that you have a found a good oncologist.. She is doing all that needs to be done.. I used to have to wait for hours at the RUH sometimes.. but got myself organized.. crossword puzzles.. company.. Sometimes I would manage to get away for some lunch.. Just so great that you are landing on your feet here as we all believed you would.. I believe there is no fear but fear itself.. and that the truth is often so much easier and kinder than our imaginations.. best of everything with this new regime.. We are all rooting for clear scans and bill of health... xxxxxx
