I'm going to bootcamp...

So, my school is offering a weightloss bootcamp and I just got a call to say I'm in! So... I'm going to get my arse kicked two nights a week. At least one of my classmates is going to be there, and if we're lucky, a third lady from our class will be able to join too! I am excited to do this, despite not really wanting to. It seems weird, but I need to do this, and I could use the help they're offering. There's going to be a personal trainer and a registered dietician available to us, which will greatly help me stay on track. So... tonight I get to go to the first session. I'll write later and tell you all how it goes!

UPDATE: So, I made it through the first day of bootcamp. The program is called 'Drop the Baggage' so they gave us lovely aqua coloured t-shirts that say "I'm here to... Drop the Baggage!". It's a 6 week program with 2 personal trainers running the two weekly sessions. They split the class into 2 groups. One group has the female trainer (my group) and the other group has the male trainer. Each trainer will give their group a routine to follow on the day that they're running the class (so Tuesdays it's the female trainer, so she'll give her group a routine to do then, and Thursdays is the male trainer and he'll give his group a new routine that day). Then the female's group does their routine on both days, even though the other trainer is in.
I don't know if I explained that right, but I'm tired now so I don't even know if I'm making sense. Anyway, we did a workout routine today, which my group will have to do on Thursday while the other group learns their new routine from their trainer.
The warm-up was brutal enough that most of the class was going "This is only the warm up?!?!" We had to do 3 laps jogging, 15 jumping jacks (I hate doing them cuz my belly feels like it's going to rip off) and one length of bear crawling (on all fours, ass in the air) followed by backwards jogging (to where we started from) and we do the crawl/jog 3 times.
Then we were given our routine. We were to do the routine 3 times, I got it done once and was almost halfway done the second time before I had to stop and walk it off.
The routine we were given was this:
1. 10 squats with overhead press (using dumbbells)2. 15 push-ups3. 20 lunges with bicep curls (using dumbbells)4. 25 burpees5. 30 flutter kicks
I thought my legs were going to fall off by the time I got to the first round of burpees (which I think is the silliest name for a workout ever!). After I got done the push-ups the second time I had to stop for a rest as I felt like I was going to be sick.
I am glad my classmate is there to help me stay with it and hold me responsible to not only the bootcamp, but to her. She's not forcing me to go, but I feel like I joined this because she joined it, I can't let her down by giving up.
So there you have it, my first day of weight loss bootcamp. Next session is on Thursday, and we'll see how that goes.

Congrats - I battled my weight all through high school and was NOT happy that I had to take some exercise classes in college, but I got enrolled in a step aerobics class and LOVED it. Before I knew it the weight was melting off, I saw a huge difference, that motivated me to eat better. I LOVED my new body. Now I just wish I could get back to that mindset/exercise routine.

Thanks PolkaDotGirl! It was crazy hard, but then I figure boot camp is supposed to be crazy hard. I wasn\'t the only one that couldn\'t finish, so that made me feel better. Luckily they pre-screened the women in the course, so 95% of us are well above the obese mark, and the rest are borderline.
