I'm getting sick of my own excuses.
It's sad when you don't believe in excuses and you offer more than anyone you know -- to yourself. I'll admit that I'm hard on myself, but this is so ridiculous. I can't get out of a bathrobe and take a shower -- before dark. Thank God I have a job where I can work from home. But, I need to get a new job with better benefits and for social interaction to help reduce this depression. I'm struggling to make progress.
I used to joke about people who sit on a sofa and watch TV all day. Now, I'm one of them. How did this happen? Over time. No one knows. I've moved to an area where I have no one. No friends. No family. And I isolate myself to where making friends isn't a priority. I'm almost scared to leave the house.
It's exhausting to "make an appearance" anywhere. The energy to fake like things are normal, get dressed, make conversation with whomever, etc. is overwhelming.
I'm wondering how long I can keep this up. I can't quit because I have a son who needs me. I am the only responsible parent he has and I won't let him down. However, at the moment, I am disgusted with myself and upset that I haven't already overcome this depression episode.
