I'm Deironed

I found out Friday and it's official... I am deironed. I won't have a phlebotomy for 12 weeks! I feel anemic and I'm positive I am. The doc seems to think so too but he said it was neccessary. I'm so happy I could cry. 12 months ago I found out I had Hemochromatosis. My ferritin was 3,166. I was a life long needle phobe. I passed out for the first few phlebotomies. A year later I have less iron in me than an average man, and a new tattoo! I am so glad that I'm not the hypochondriac everyone said I was. I'm so glad I found this site. I would have NEVER been able to do it without these people. I learn something new everyday. I am much wiser about my disorder and I hope to hang around here and pop in from time to time to answer questions from people who are in the position I was in a year ago. It's been a long road. I still have palpatations, joint pain, and a brain fog but I am alive. Thanks to good doctors I am alive. Thanks to God I am still here to see my boy grow up. ~Jonathan
