I'm back .....Lezleyheartstoyou.

Well, folks sorry haven't been on here in a while.
i have tried to update this whilst away, three times and lost it all, so gave up till I got home...Haven't been well for sometime, apart from the usual Adders stuff.
week prior  to all this, I had a stressful time emotionally with older children, i was ok on the day, it was  next morning I was laying in bed and couldn't move and I mean couldn't move a muscle, only thing I could do was open my eyes, this was at four in the morning, hubby went to bathroom and he didn't notice a thing, lay there for two hours thinking this is it! Then he woke again at six, I managed a moan, but took him a while to see what was going on. I whispered its a bad one, couldn't get tablets in me, so it was injection time..came too in about five minutes more hydro ...okay that was the 1 CRISIS.
Four days later after, and now fenormal ok.
I had to have a operation, it was to put bowel, bladder and uterus back in there rightful places, needless to say was worried, not about the operation it self, but the after wards....anaesthetic ..pain etc.
on 21 June 2013, went for this operation, waited for bed whilst at home touch and go if it would happen, then yes got come in now. Frightened but, in a good mental state drove myself there. Thinking bring it on. I was prepped, brought up my concerns dues to addisons, they rang my Endo  man lucky he was in same hospital.
so saline hydro drips set up... Here we go, went down at four back  7pm long time to come to in recovery... We are dreadful with anaesthetic ....hubby visited at 7pm. 8.30 pm feeling not to bad, asked for sandwich, hadn't eaten since 6am that day so hungry.
sitting up eating cup of tea, finished then, ten minutes of so later, I felt rough, so much so, I rang for a nurse as I was in my own room, nurse, said breathe  keep calm, I said I'm calm just feel terrible, next thing I know blood pressure sky high, people rushing in, whilst I was in and out of  Consciousness , I managed to say I need hydro  she said you've had some,  Another said this isn't a Addison crisis they have low blood pressure, then they thought I was having a bleed, then cardiac, monitors etc, frightening but, at same time at peace, thinking @@@k it lets go... Then came to finally, with another dripping. CRISIS 2 in a week. NEXT day everyone was amazed how better I looked, and couldn't believe what had happened the day before...
next was bathroom trip for a much earned shower, carrying the we we bag, haha what a site that was, at least I wasn't alone here.showered had breakfast, rested then Oh! No felt off, walked to the nurses station, didn't what to ring again, I'm no moaner..then said I didn't feel right it,was the catheter bag, felt uncomfortable. Okay she said we will change it, next thing on the floor bang gone, what a sight it was,was lifted on a desk chair, that was were I fell, and the back was moving wheels jamming it was funny even though it was serious, you have to laugh where you can hey.! CRISIS 3
okay day for home went well, took myself to bed, and was told to take, 40 morning 20 afternoon 20 bed time, wow, didn't thing you'd get such high dose like that, I'm 5 foot 2 And ten stone ...no floudro though he said due to high dose of hydro.. two days later came downstairs daughter mad beans on toast sat at table ready to eat, felt oh! Been here, a lot latterly, and promptly passed out face down in the beans.! Major panic where's the pack, she couldn't find it,( lesson to us all)  tried injecting me with acupuncture needle trying to ask me where it was and couldn't speak... Then she found a pack. Five minute later ok. CRISIS 4.
last one was three days after returning home, lounging in warm sunshine, gone again, daughter does injections well, now haha.CRISIS 5.
all I can say is teach everyone close to you to use injection, cos blinking heck WE WON'T .... It's not being a drama queen, or king its important, it will save you life... Get you PACK AT THE READY AND LEARN...
Just like to say thank you for reading this post, door hope you'll all understand why it's been so long, but, Im back, in the land of the living, smiling, happy, still sore very sore, but I'm getting there.. Thank you

Sorry you went through so much! I\'m glad your feeling better. That was a lot of crisis to go through. I just told my husband yesterday that I need to teach him how to do it. Hope you stay well.

Thanks Lynn... Deffo make a lesson now, after all we can\'t speak, move to tell them when we\'re flat out on the floor. Your not being a drama queen! It\'s like first aid....we should all know what to do. No time like the present...,you never know when it will happen...,take care Lezleysheartstoyouxx

Glad you\'ve made it through all that, what a nightmare! After my first few crises my wife is now paranoid about me and checks in often to make sure I\'m not face down somewhere. She\'s been very good at telling when I\'m not right. I don\'t have an injection kit but I think I\'ll get one next time I have health insurance again (hah! gonna be years) just in case.

You may want to look into smaller more frequent doses of HC if you\'re having this many crises. There is solid medical evidence that HC does not stay in your system more than about four hours. It is a documented biochemical fact that it has a short biological half life. That means you\'re probably heading towards a crisis by time you get to your next dose when you\'re only dosing 3x/day. The reason why such huge doses work is that as each half life time segment passes the amount of HC in you is halved. If the tiny fraction still left in your system by your next dose is enough to prevent a crisis then that initial dose will work. This subjects your system to a far higher than needed initial dose though.

This next part is my own hypothesis, but the previous was solid fact. I suspect that the reason why so many here are having to dramatically boost their salt intake is because they are dosing too infrequently. Fludro keeps your salt levels up and lasts all day. HC does this too but only at higher doses and only while the HC is in your system, which is you are dosing infrequently is certainly not all day. I dose every four hours (10, 10, 5, 5) that I am awake, and in doing so I have been able to reduce my total daily dose and my stress doses (5 or 10) without having any crises for eight months now. All my bloodwork comes back normal for salt and potassium as well, which it did not when I was doing the infrequent dosing. I don\'t even have to supplement salt, and my BP has normalized.

Feel better!
